I like the lighting in this picture because I feel that it
shows just how warm an amber color can be. This picture furthers my thoughts on
why people think normal indoor housing color is this warm and maybe this type
of shop lighting can be misleading for new lighting designers. The picture was
taken during a cloudy day, which adds a lot to the illumination seen in the
store windows. I feel like the light from the window and the directory make the
insides of the stores look very cozy and inviting, and as a result work well as
a marketing tool. The light by the palm tree looks like there is still some
sunlight shining through, but the way that the shops are curved don’t allow for
much of that sun to show through. I feel
that the light is working here to give the shops more life then just commercial
places.
